Built for Smaller Breeds
Our Honolulu and Kahala pet resorts are designed for our smaller canine guests under 35 pounds, with spaces and amenities chosen for their needs. At these locations, small to medium dog breeds enjoy an environment all their own without the presence of larger dogs. It’s perfect for many puppies, and offers lots of secure, climate-controlled space for puppies to play and explore.
Unleashed
Perfect Play for All Sizes
Pets in the City Unleashed is designed to suit dogs of any size, including larger breeds and puppies over 35 pounds. We have the largest indoor play areas of any dog resort in Honolulu, and our puppy guests make the most of it! Whatever your puppy’s size, they’ll enjoy meaningful socialization and enriching fun with puppies of similar age and stature.

How much does it cost?
Our puppy socialization in Honolulu is absolutely free. All you need to do is call to register and we’ll save a spot for your pup at no cost.
When does puppy socialization take place?
We provide free puppy socialization every Saturday at 11 am, with possible exceptions near major holidays. Call to see when our next sessions are!
What are the age requirements?
Our free puppy socialization program is built to benefit puppies under the age of 9 months. After this age, your pup is welcome to give our doggie daycare a try!
What vaccinations does my puppy need?
Puppies should have at least their first full round of vaccinations including distemper/parvo and Bordetella, as well as a negative fecal exam within the last 6 months.
Are reservations required?
We do require reservations for puppy socialization classes in order to keep group sizes small and make sure all puppies have appropriate vaccinations. Please call to sign up.
Can I stay for the session?
Puppies don’t usually act the same way in the presence of their human family, and they’re not as likely to get the most out of the program if they know mom or dad is nearby. For these reasons, we ask pet parents to please drop off their pups and come back later after the session is complete. We’ll fill you in about your puppy’s experience, what they enjoyed doing, and who they made friends with, and answer any questions you may have.
How many times can my puppy come play?
Puppies are welcome to join us for three free sessions as long as they’re under the age of 9 months. This lets them build on their skills while giving every puppy who wants to benefit from our program a chance to play. After three sessions, puppies are welcome to try our doggie daycare services!
How do you keep the puppies safe?
Safety is always our first priority. Pets in the City is staffed by highly trained professionals, with multiple caregivers overseeing every session. We limit attendance to keep group sizes small for maximum safety, comfort, and supervision. All guests must provide proof of vaccination, ensuring your pup only encounters other vaccinated pets. Our facility is built with canine wellness in mind, including advanced air filtration, year-round temperature control, and facility-wide security monitoring. And, we maintain a fresh and sparkling environment with daily deep-cleans using puppy-safe cleansers, among other safety and wellness protocols. Please call us if you have any questions about our commitment to your puppy’s safety.
What happens if my puppy is nervous?
We never force the puppies to exit their comfort zone before they’re ready and make every effort to ensure they know they’re safe, loved, and protected. If any puppy appears uncomfortable or nervous, our team provides gentle reassurance as they take their time and learn through observation. Most nervous puppies come out of their shells partway into the session, and we won’t hesitate to try switching playmates or further reducing group sizes to help a puppy feel at ease.
